Slice of Life: The first year

So, today, at this time a year ago, I was staring at my missionary badge.
Unlike before though, it was a bit of a sad moment. I was looking at it as it sat on my bedside table. I had just taken it off for the last time, never to put in on again.
That day marked the end of a great two years for me. I learned so much and really built a foundation that I feel I can base my life on. I met some of the greatest people, and I feel like they made an impact on my life that is much greater than I could ever have on them. It really was the best two years.
I like to think that I've applied the things I learned in Ohio. It hasn't been easy, but it has certainly made the last year just that much better. Since I got home, I have:
  • Increased my GPA by more than 1 point.
  • Gotten four jobs.
  • Hear from several people that more people that I taught got baptized.
  • Figured out my major and what I want to do with my life.
  • Lost 10 pounds.
  • Always had a church calling/didn't go less active.
And, most importantly,
  • Found my future roommate...for life.
I've been thinking a lot about Ohio lately. I hope the people there know that I love them. I owe them more than I can express in words.
