Letter of intent.

I am a dynamic figure, often seen scaling walls and crushing ice. I have been known to remodel train stations on my lunch breaks, making them more efficient in the area of heat retention. I translate ethnic slurs for Cuban refugees, I write award-winning operas, I manage time efficiently.

Occasionally, I tread water for three days in a row. I woo women with my sensuous and godlike trombone playing, I can pilot bicycles up severe inclines with unflagging speed, and I cook Thirty-Minute Brownies in twenty minutes. I am an expert in stucco, a veteran in love, and an outlaw in Peru.

Using only a hoe and a large glass of water, I once single-handedly defended a small village in the Amazon Basin from a horde of ferocious army ants. I play bluegrass cello, I was scouted by the Mets, I am the subject of numerous documentaries. When I'm bored, I build large suspension bridges in my yard. I enjoy urban hang gliding. On Wednesdays, after school, I repair electrical appliances free of charge.

I am an abstract artist, a concrete analyst, and a ruthless bookie. Critics worldwide swoon over my original line of corduroy evening wear. I don't perspire. I am a private citizen, yet I receive fan mail. I have been caller number nine and have won the weekend passes. Last summer I toured New Jersey with a traveling centrifugal-force demonstration. I bat 400.

My deft floral arrangements have earned me fame in international botany circles. Children trust me. I can hurl tennis rackets at small moving objects with deadly accuracy. I once read Paradise Lost, Moby Dick, and David Copperfield in one day and still had time to refurbish an entire dining room that evening. I know the exact location of every food item in the supermarket. I have performed several covert operations with the CIA.

I sleep once a week; when I do sleep, I sleep in a chair. While on vacation in Canada, I successfully negotiated with a group of terrorists who had seized a small bakery. I balance, I weave, I dodge, I frolic, and my bills are all paid.

On weekends, to let off steam, I participate in full-contact origami. Years ago I discovered the meaning of life but forgot to write it down. I have made extraordinary four course meals using only a mouli and a toaster oven. I breed prize-winning clams. I have won bullfights in San Juan, cliff-diving competitions in Sri Lanka, and spelling bees at the Kremlin.

I have played Hamlet, I have performed open-heart surgery, and I have spoken with Elvis.

But I have not yet gone to college.

Commence Year 3

School has officially started again. Not the spring term half time stuff, but it's on now. I'm taking five 300 level classes this semester. In fact, it's already promising to be quite the workload (I've already had to finish two homework assignments and it's only the first day. olay...). But I'm excited because they are actually relevant to me as opposed to the usual general ed stuff that usually dominates my academic schedule. Also I might be working three jobs: Peer coaching, research assistant, and guest services.
Oh yes, and I got married 3 weeks ago so I have to do the whole family thing now. Not that I'm bummed about that though. In fact, I'd say that's the thing I'm looking forward to the most this semester.
So anyways...let the good times roll.

Slice of Life: Day 27

Today was about as typical as it gets. I wake up, go to work, come home, go to sell plasma, then spend the night running errands with the missus. It's just all kinds of fun. But it was a very typical day. And that's all for today.

Slice of Life: Day 26

Yeah, it's been forever.
Since my last post, I've been so busy. Working 8 hours of custodial work, coming home and working out, getting things done with the fiancee, it's just crazy. I'm getting lots of physical and mental activity and it's great. I shall recap this week.
  • Friday: Registered at Bed, Bath, and Beyond. It was great. It would be totally irrational to think that we will get everything that we signed up for, but it was a blast. I can't wait to actually decorate my home (our home) with our style of stuff.
  • Saturday: Went up to Bear Lake to spend time with the family. My two youngest are home for the summer. To celebrate, my Dad rented a condo and some jetskis and we went crazy. I'm totally sore right now but it was totally worth it. We also went mini golfing and celebrated my other brothers birthday.
  • I did a few calculations and I am 2.5% less of a man than I was last week. Apparently my diet is working like a charm. I did the calculations and I'm six pounds lighter than last week. Now, I do know that most of it is water weight, but still. I'm happy.
  • Went to an old companion's reception. More wedding stuff. I did some thought, and realize that we do pretty much everything about 6 weeks apart. He was born, went on a mission, got home, and got married 6 weeks before I will. Also, we are pretty much the same people as far as what we did in high school. We got good enough that we could read each others minds. I'm happy for him and wish him and his wife a happy and successful life.
  • Played a softball game. After falling behind 10-2, we came back and only lost by 3. We were undermanned and stuff, so I'm looking forward to next game to see what we can do (tuesday at 7:30, for those of you who want to come).
  • I also got lots of sun, furthering my goal of looking like a mexican by the end of summer.
  • Refilled the prescription of Adderall. Let the good times roll.
  • Got lots of wedding planning done.
  • Had movie night with the fiancee, which was most therapeutic.
I really apologize for not doing the slice of life with all diligence, as I had previously promised to do. I've had full days and about 6 hours of sleep per night, so I hope that you will forgive me. I'll try to be more consistent until tuesday, at which time I will be leaving for Montana and family vacation.
Keep it real people.

Slice of Life: Day 20

Apparently weekends aren't the time to do this slice of life thing. Oh well. I promise I'm doing good things.
I'm currently immersed in the wedding atmosphere. Last Saturday I went to yet another wedding, this time two friends of ours that got married in the Salt Lake Temple. It was really beautiful and they looked really happy and blah blah blah...all that stuff. It was everything it should have been.
This wednesday, I'm going to another one. This time my old companion is getting married.
Oh yeah, on Saturday another friend of ours is getting married in Logan. I also get to visit my family, so it's like a double bonus.
On friday a missionary from Ohio is getting married. I might make it to that one, but we'll see.
Last week my old roommate got married to his perfect match. And if you knew these two, you would know that they were just meant for each other. They have probably discussed in depth their relationship in pre-earth life, because that's just the kind of people they are.
Oh yeah, I'm getting married.......Not to mention....
That's the one I'm really excited for.
Two weeks later my best friend gets married.
And there's about three other ones that I've left out.
So yes, love is in the air. I'm glad that I jumped on that bandwagon.
