Slice of Life: Day 1

Here we go.

For the last few days I haven't been at home too much. Brooke's Dad got married a week ago, so he's off doing the honeymoon thing. That's all fine and dandy. The only thing is that he left some kids at home that need feeding. So Brooke and I got to head up and help cook dinner, help eat dinner, and help clean up dinner. Then stay there until it was time to spank the children and send them off to bed.
It sounds pretty simple. I really liked it. It bears a semblance of normalcy that I haven't felt for a good long while. Home is a good place, and I feel at home there. It was nice to just do the dishes and have a normal sit-down-together dinner and then hear kids argue about chores and bedtime and whatever there was to argue about. Oh by the way, it's also nice eating real food again, and also very nice to not pay for it.
Yes, college has made me a cheapskate, desperate for normal life experiences. Either way, It was an enjoyable night.
